Date Escape

Effective Date: March 3, 2026 · Last Updated: March 3, 2026

Date Escape (“the App”) is operated by Signal & Co Studios (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and shared when you use the App.

We built Date Escape with privacy as a core principle. The App runs locally on your device and does not require an account. That said, the App does use third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, and advertising that may collect certain data. This policy explains exactly what that looks like.

1. Information We Collect

Information Stored on Your Device Only

The following data is created and stored locally on your device. It is never transmitted to us or any third party:

  • Escape call settings (caller names, photos, scheduled times, ringtone preferences)
  • Escape history (completed, skipped, and cancelled calls)
  • App preferences and settings

This data remains on your device and is deleted if you uninstall the App or use the in-app reset feature.

Information Collected by Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, and advertising. These services may automatically collect certain data, including:

  • Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers
  • Usage data: app opens, feature usage patterns, session duration
  • Crash data: crash logs, stack traces, and diagnostic information
  • Advertising data: ad impressions, interactions, and identifiers used to serve relevant ads (e.g., Apple's IDFA, subject to your App Tracking Transparency choice)

We do not control the data practices of these third-party services. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for more detail (see Section 5).

Contacts (Optional)

If you grant the App permission to access your Contacts, this data is used solely to display real contact names and photos as fake callers for added realism. Contact data is read locally on your device and is never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or any third party. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device's Settings.

Notifications

The App requests notification permission to deliver scheduled fake calls. Notification tokens are used locally and are not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

2. How We Use Information

We do not collect personal information directly. The third-party services integrated into the App use the data they collect for the following purposes:

  • Analytics and crash reporting: To understand how the App is used, identify bugs, and improve performance and stability.
  • Advertising: To display ads within the free version of the App. Ad networks may use device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads.

We never sell your personal information.

3. App Tracking Transparency

On iOS 14.5 and later, the App will request your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites for advertising purposes. You can change this choice at any time in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.

If you decline tracking, you will still see ads, but they may be less relevant to your interests.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties except as described in this policy. Specifically:

  • Advertising partners may receive device identifiers and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads.
  • Analytics and crash reporting providers may receive device and usage data to help us improve the App.
  • We do not share, sell, or transfer your locally stored app data (escape settings, caller details, history) to anyone.

5. Third-Party Services

The App may use the following categories of third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

  • Analytics/Crash Reporting (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics)
  • Advertising (e.g., Google AdMob, Apple Search Ads)

We require that all third-party service providers maintain data protection standards consistent with this policy and applicable law. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies directly:

If additional SDKs are integrated in future versions, this section will be updated accordingly.

6. Children's Privacy

Date Escape is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at the email below and we will take steps to delete that information.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All app-generated data (caller settings, escape history, preferences) is stored locally on your device. You can delete this data at any time by using the “Erase All Data” feature in the App's Settings, or by uninstalling the App.

For data collected by third-party analytics, crash reporting, and advertising services, retention periods are governed by those services' own policies.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following choices regarding your data:

  • Contacts access: You can grant or revoke access at any time in your device's Settings.
  • Notification permission: You can enable or disable notifications in your device's Settings.
  • Ad tracking: You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's Settings (Privacy & Security > Tracking on iOS).
  • Delete local data: Use the “Erase All Data” option in the App's Settings to remove all locally stored data.
  • Uninstall: Removing the App deletes all locally stored data.

If you are a resident of California, the European Economic Area, or another jurisdiction with applicable data protection laws, you may have additional rights regarding your data, including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information. To exercise these rights, please contact us at the email below.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information associated with the App. All user-created data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted over the internet. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data collected by third-party services.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
